Repository Policy

In support of open scholarly communication and responsible knowledge dissemination, Transformative Law Review allows authors to self-archive their scholarly works in accordance with the journal’s copyright, licensing, publication ethics, and repository policies. This policy applies to articles, reviews, notes, and other scholarly contributions published by the journal.

Authors are permitted to deposit appropriate versions of their manuscripts in personal websites, institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, academic profiles, or other non-commercial scholarly platforms, provided that proper citation and a link to the official journal version are included.

Definitions

For the purpose of this policy, the following manuscript versions are recognized:

  • Pre-print: The author’s original version of the manuscript before peer review and before formal acceptance by the journal.
  • Post-print / Accepted Manuscript: The peer-reviewed and author-corrected version of the manuscript that has been accepted for publication but has not yet been copyedited, typeset, or formatted by the journal.
  • Publisher’s Version / Version of Record: The final, copyedited, typeset, and officially published version of the article as it appears on the journal website.

Self-Archiving Guidelines

Authors may share the pre-print version of their manuscript before or during the submission process. However, authors should ensure that pre-print sharing does not violate research ethics, confidentiality, or any agreement with other parties. If a manuscript has been previously shared as a pre-print, authors should inform the editorial office during submission.

Authors may deposit the post-print or accepted manuscript in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or personal academic profiles after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. The deposited version should clearly indicate that the manuscript has been accepted by Transformative Law Review and should include a link to the official journal website when available.

Authors are permitted to deposit the publisher’s version or version of record after publication, provided that the full bibliographic citation and a direct link to the article’s DOI or official journal URL are included.

Recommended citation statement:
This article was published in Transformative Law Review. Please cite the final published version available at: [insert DOI or official journal URL].

Conditions for Repository Deposit

  • The deposited version must not misrepresent the publication status of the manuscript.
  • The official journal citation must be included when the article has been published.
  • A link to the DOI or official journal URL must be provided where available.
  • The deposited version must comply with the journal’s copyright and licensing policy.
  • Authors must not alter the content of the publisher’s version in a way that changes the scholarly record.
  • Repository deposit must not be used for commercial purposes unless permitted by the applicable license.

License Requirements

All self-archived versions of the manuscript must comply with the journal’s copyright and licensing terms. Unless otherwise stated, articles published in Transformative Law Review are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International. This license permits non-commercial use, distribution, and adaptation, provided that appropriate credit is given and derivative works are shared under the same license.

Relationship with the Official Published Version

The official version of record is the final article published on the journal website. Authors, readers, and repositories are encouraged to link to the official published version to ensure citation accuracy, metadata consistency, and long-term discoverability of the article.
