Immediate Open Access

Pakungwati Law Review (PLR) provides immediate open access to all published content. Articles are freely available online upon publication, without subscription charges, registration requirements, or an embargo period.

PLR supports the principle that free access to scholarly knowledge promotes wider readership, more inclusive academic exchange, stronger public engagement, and the advancement of legal research and justice.

Open License

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International License. Authors retain copyright while granting the public broad rights to share and adapt their work under the license conditions.

Conditions for Reuse

Give appropriate credit to the author, cite PLR as the original place of publication, provide the article DOI or URL and a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.

Distribute adaptations under CC BY-SA 4.0 or a license officially designated as compatible. Users may not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the licensed rights.

Copyright Retention

Authors retain copyright in their articles. They grant PLR the right of first publication and a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, archive, preserve, and identify the work as an original PLR publication.

Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and published version in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and academic networks. The deposited version should identify its status and, once published, link to the version of record.

Third-Party Material

Images, figures, tables, datasets, or other third-party material are included under the article's open license only when this is expressly indicated. Material accompanied by a different credit line or rights statement may require separate permission from its copyright holder.

Digital Availability and Preservation

PLR seeks to maintain stable access to published articles and their metadata through its journal platform, indexing services, repositories, and appropriate digital-preservation arrangements. Corrections, retractions, or other post-publication notices remain openly accessible as part of the permanent scholarly record.

Article metadata may be shared openly with libraries, databases, discovery services, preservation systems, and other scholarly infrastructures to improve visibility, retrieval, citation, and long-term access.
