Pakungwati Journal of Islamic Law and Society (PJILS) is committed to maintaining a transparent and accessible publication process. Authors are not charged any fee at the time of manuscript submission. Publication fees apply only at the stages specified below and do not influence editorial or peer-review decisions.
The Fast-Track Review service is optional and is intended for authors who require an accelerated editorial and peer-review process. Payment of the fast-track fee does not guarantee acceptance or publication. Manuscripts submitted through this service remain subject to the same academic standards, double-blind peer-review requirements, ethical evaluation, and editorial criteria as manuscripts processed through the regular review route.
The availability of fast-track processing depends on editorial capacity and the availability of qualified reviewers. The Editorial Team reserves the right to decline a fast-track request where an accelerated review cannot be conducted without compromising review quality.
Authors whose manuscripts have been accepted for publication are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of Rp 750.000. The APC supports editorial management, copyediting, layout and typesetting, online publication, digital preservation, journal administration, and other publication-related services. No APC is charged for manuscripts that are rejected.
PJILS recognizes that publication charges may create financial barriers for some authors. Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a full or partial waiver. Waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to Editorial Approval. Requests for fee waivers do not affect the peer-review process or editorial decision and should preferably be submitted before the final production stage.
All editorial and publication decisions are based solely on the scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope. Payment of any publication-related fee does not confer any advantage in the assessment, acceptance, or publication of a manuscript.
