Focus and Scope
The Journal of Transformative Islamic Law (JTIL) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that promotes rigorous, critical, interdisciplinary, and context-sensitive research on Islamic law. The journal is particularly concerned with the ways in which Islamic legal thought, norms, institutions, and practices respond to social transformation, legal reform, technological development, cultural diversity, and contemporary demands for justice.
The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, comparative legal studies, case analyses, and critical review articles. Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear contribution to Islamic legal scholarship, employ an appropriate and transparent methodology, and engage critically with relevant primary and secondary sources.
